MINISTERS AND DOGAN DENY PROBLEMS IN COALITION

There are no problems with the appointment of deputy government ministers and deputy district governors on the quota of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), Agriculture Minister Ahmed Dikme said Thursday answering a reporter`s question before the regular government meeting. Dikme`s statement comes only a day after key deputy chairman of MRF, Osman Oktai, complained that MRF is put in isolation by its senior coalition partner, the Simeon II National Movement and resigned. Asked to comment Oktai`s allegations that the MRF government ministers are under pressure and unable to carry out their duties, over which the MRF deputy leader wants to resign, Dikme said these are `Mr Oktai`s personal problems`. `In my capacity as government minister on the MRF quota, I can say that no one has put me under pressure. I am happy that all candidacies are put to discussion before the appointments are actually made,` he
said. He also said that all people proposed for deputy ministers in his ministry had been nominated by himself. According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Nikolai Vassilev, who was an MP of SNM before he got the ministerial job, the relations between the coalition partners are `wonderful` and there is no tension. `Osman Oktai does not care whether the coalition of the MRF and the NMS II is working or not. If he has the courage, let him tell the truth about his resignation,` said the leader of the movement Ahmed Dogan. He elaborated that he was satisfied with the stepping down of Oktai and defined it as `delayed`. Oktai`s resignation surprised the MRF. Nobody both at the HQ and in the country was not aware of it. The structures in the cities approved this decision and said that it was high time the movement to be purged of dishonest persons.
