The lottery craze in Bulgaria came to conclusion with two lucking winners splitting the record BGN 9 472 606 jackpot.
This was the highest jackpot in the history of the Bulgarian state lottery, accumulating in the course of several months.
The jackpot was for the drawing of the State Lottery Toto 6/49 game, where the winning numbers ended up being 11, 46, 32, 44, 36, and 28.
Due to crowds invading Toto offices, the latter remained opened for extended hours and the drawing on the Bulgarian National Television was also delayed by an hour.
A total of 1.5 million Toto file cards were submitted.
The chances to win were estimated at 1:14 000 000.
The previous record-high BGN 7 M jackpot in Toto was won in February last year at the second draw in the 6/49 game and a month later the money was already in the winner's bank account.
The winner was reported to be a man from the northeastern town of Kubrat guessing all 6 numbers – 25, 26, 27, 32, 37, 43. He bet BGN 2.8 and is now millionaire in the largest jackpot in the history of Bulgaria's State lottery.
