Bulgaria's Restaurateurs Plan Nationwide Protests for Lower VAT
Restaurants in Bulgaria have organized protests to demand a return to the 9% VAT rate for the tourism sector,
Three Bulgarian men have been charged in connection with a plot to steal cooking oil from restaurants in the UK city of Portsmouth.
Plamen Borisov, Ivan Minchev and Aleksandar Stoychev are accused of taking the oil from the Toby Carvery restaurant in Copnor Road, Hilsea, Portsmouth, and The Harvester in Eastern Road.
Borisov, 21, and Minchev, 20 both of Lordship Lane, Haringey, London, and Stoychev, 25, of Hewitt Avenue, Woodgreen, London, were arrested following the alleged thefts earlier in October, Portsmouth News has informed.
None of them entered pleas when they appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court. According to Portsmouth News, the hearing could not go ahead as the men needed an interpreter.
All three were released on bail to return to court later this month.
