A 22-year old Bulgarian man has been detained for the recent armed robbery of a central Sofia hotel.
The news was reported Sunday by the Interior Ministry.
Police received information about the robbery on Cherni Vrah boulevard slightly after 10 pm on September 17. A police patrol has been immediately dispatched to the crime scene. The victim told them a masked man entered the hotel lobby, threatened her with a gun, a demanded all money kept at the reception desk. She complied and gave him BGN 300 and EUR 50. He then fled the place.
The search of the premises and the security camera tapes have led the police to identifying the robber as A. Y., 22, a resident of Sofia. He has been arrested Friday and is being held behind bars for 72 hours before facing a judge and indictment.
