4 large and 80 smaller wildfires are burning in Bulgaria Sunday, announced the commander of Bulgaria's firefighting force, Chief Commissar Nikolay Nikolov.
A total of 151 blazes were active Sunday, with 84 of them remaining so in the afteroon.
The most serious wildfire, in the Rila mountain near the Rila Monastery, has once again grown in size.
The flames are in a hard to access area, and firefighters have once again requested the participation of two military helicopters.
Local authorities have also said that volunteers are needed to boost work.
According to Nikolov, two other serious blazes, near Varna and Vidin, have been limited.
Cloud cover will increase across the country on Monday, February 9, marking the start of a colder and wetter day. Morning temperatures will range from 0 to 5 degrees, with around 2 degrees expected in Sofia.
