Code orange has been declared for dangerous weather in the Southern Bulgarian region of Blagoevgrad and the northern regions of Ruse and Vidin because of the continuing heatwave in the country.
Code orange means intense weather situations with potential damage, injuries and casualties. People are advised to keep track of the weather conditions and avoid any potential risks.
All other Bulgarian regions are under code yellow.
For many locations in the north and south-west, highs Wednesday can reach 39 C and above, Bulgaria's National Insitute of Meteorology and Hydrology warned on Tuesday.
Temperatures are expected to be increasing with a couple of degrees every day until Sunday.
