A field of 150 square meters planted with marijuana has been uncovered by police in Bulgaria.

The plantation was found during a regular police patrol nearby the town of Slivnitsa, just west of Bulgarian capital Sofia.

After an specialized inspection, the police determined that the field, located on Golyamo Malovo village ground, was in fact planted with cannabis.

Authorities have confiscated 311 stalks of the plant.

The 56-year-old man who is using the field has been identified and has no prior criminal record.
