The members of the new Supervisory Board of the Privatization Agency |have requested information about all deals the PA has concluded since the beginning of 2001, as well as about those which are to be finalized in the same year, Petko Nikolov, Director of the Supervisory Board, said at the first news conference given after his appointment. Nikolov was elected chairman of the PA Supervisory Board last week. A lawyer by education, he became a member of the Supervisory Board as part of the quota of the Simeon II National Movement. Supervisory Board members had their first meeting to acquaint themselves with the agency structure and functions. Levon Hampartsoumyan, the past executive director of the agency, also attended the meeting. `If any procedural violations are established, it may be cancelled, following the law-prescribed procedure,` Nikolov said, replying a question if some privatization contracts would be revised. In his words, the Supervisory Board has not set itself a deadline for getting acquainted with the privatization transactions already concluded but added this would be done within a short time. The Supervisory Board will meet every day, and not twice a week as was the practice before.
