A wildfire has delayed Monday evening by 2.5 hours the express train between the Black Sea city of Burgas and the Bulgarian capital Sofia.

The largest private TV channel bTV reported Tuesday morning that the fire has erupted near the town of Kalofer stranding the train at the Tadza station until the extinguishing of the flames.

The passengers, the majority of them young people returning from the Spirit of Burgas concert, arrived at the Central Railroad Station in Sofia at 11:30 pm instead of 9 pm.

Another wildfire is burning near the village of Borovitsa, in the area of the town of Belogradchik. It has been isolated, but over 50 firemen and forest rangers are still trying to tame the latest in a series of blazes occurring in Bulgaria over the persisting heat wave and draught.
