Code Yellow has been declared for the major part of Bulgaria for Sunday over the forecast for dangerous heat.

The forecast is issued by the National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, BAS.

Only the regions of Sofia City, Sofia, Pernik and Smolyan are under Code Green, while all others are under Code Yellow.

The weather will be hot and sunny Sunday. Temperatures are to reach anywhere between 33 and 38 degrees Celsius, about 33C-34C in the capital Sofia.

On the Black Sea Coast the mercury will climb up to 31C-34C; the temperature of the sea water will be between 26C and 28C.

Code Yellow means potentially dangerous weather, where the forecast is not for unusual meteorological events, but requires people to exercise caution.
