Three Bulgarian women were sentenced to prison in London for resorting to pickpocketing.

The three, aged 21, 33 and 40, were operating on busses in London, where they gathered wallets and mobile phones from passengers.

The youngest of the three Bulgarian citizens had already been sentenced to 5 weeks in jail on charges of pickpocketing.

Now the three have received sentences of 4 months in prison.

Their lawyers explained that their clients had arrived in the UK to work and send money to their children in Bulgaria, but then resorted to a criminal way of life.
