Famous Bulgarian singers will take part in a charity concert at the National Museum of History on Thursday. Pop singers Vassil Naydenov and Silvia Katsarova will sing for free at the concert that will raise funds for the preservation of the cultural and historic heritage of Bulgaria. Another reason for the concert is the need for popularity of the museum, Silvia Katsarova explained. The museum is situated in the outskirts of the capital after moving from downtown Sofia. The idea about the concert belongs to Stoyan Stoyanov, deputy director of the museum. Madlen Yanova from the museum explained that it was impossible for the museum to cover all its costs.
It was very difficult to find sponsors for the concert, Vassil Naydenov and Silvia Katsarova complained. It is a pity that rich companies are not willing to help for such patriotic events, they commented. The general sponsor for the event is the Sports Ministry. The singers though said that the state needed to be much more involved and allocate more funding for the historical and cultural heritage of the country.
The organizers of the concert called on everybody who could to help to sponsor the event. The concert begins at 7.30 pm on Thursday inside the National Museum of History. The tickets cost BGN 25.
