Bulgaria braces for an extremely hot weekend, as experts have predicted that tropical air masses are to enter the country via North Africa.
Temperatures are to reach between 35 and 41 degrees centigrade in most places. However, some Bulgarian regions may have to cope with 42 degrees.
Bulgaria's National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology expects temperatures to cool off on Monday and Tuesday, reaching 31-32 degrees in Sofia and 35-36 in Southeastern Bulgaria.
The Balkan country is already roasting in an intense heat wave.
Thursday marks the fourth day in a row that the National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has declared code orange for all of Bulgaria's regions over dangerous heat.
Code orange means intense weather phenomena that can cause potential damage, injuries and casualties.
People are advised not to venture outside, especially around noon and during the afternoon. Plenty of water is to be drunk.
