Over Eighty Bulgarian Towns Join on European Car Free Day

Eighty-four Bulgarian towns participate in the European Car Free Day on Sunday. In the capital Sofia, cars are not allowed to some of the main streets. Boulevards Slivnitsa, Vassil Levski, Patriarch Evtimii are closed for cars from 10 am till 5 pm. The official opening of the Car Free Day took place at noon in downtown Sofia. A happening on the occasion with famous artists and singers began at lake Ariana at 10 am on Sunday. Experts from the Environment Ministry monitor the quality of the air and the noise in the region where the cars will be stopped.
