A file photo from Sofia Photo Agency shows Bulgarians looking for rescue from the scorching heat.
A Code Orange alert was declared for all Bulgarian regions on Monday, as the country is expected to be roasted by a scorching heat for a sixth day in a row.
Temperatures are to reach between 36 and 39 degrees Centigrade in most parts of the country (around 35 degrees in the capital Sofia, between 33 and 35 along the Black Sea coastline.)
Code orange means intense weather situations with potential damage, injuries and casualties.
People are advised not to venture outside, especially around noon and during the afternoon. Plenty of water is to be drunk.
The heat wave is expected to last at least until Friday.
