RING FOR COUNTERFEIT MONEY BUSTED

Police officers of the Romanian directorate for fight against organized crime busted two rings for the distribution of counterfeit money made in Bulgaria, Romanian paper `Monitorul` quotes Col. Gelu Drunjianu as saying. Two weeks ago two Moldavians were arrested in Romania caught in the act of pushing on 37,000 fake Deutsche marks in 200-mark notes. According to investigators, the banknotes were forged in Bulgaria and brought into Romania by the two. Col. Drunjianu specified that the police first organized the arrest of a Bulgarian resident. The counterfeit money was confiscated and the Moldavians were handed over to the prosecution.
