DIMITROV APPOINTED CUSTOMS AGENCY DIRECTOR

Emil Dimitrov, a former Finance Ministry auditor known as `The Inspector`, is the new director of the Customs Agency. Dimitrov was recommended for the position by Finance Minister Milen Velchev and approved by Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg. Zahary Zahariev, the former director of the Agency, was officially dismissed on Monday by Minister Velchev. Dimitrov is a member of the organization `Civil Society Against Corruption` and was the leader of elections` list of the IMRO-Gergiovden coalition in Stara Zagora. He has never been engaged in customs` activities but as chief of the State Financial Control he conducted an inspection of the Central Customs Administration. After such an inspection a burst-up followed between the former Finance Minister and Emil Dimitrov, member of his team.
