National Association of Bulgarian Municipalities will meet with finance minister Milen Velchev today to discuss the 2002 budget related with the municipal budgets and the 2001 budget, chairwoman Ginka Chavdarova said. An agreement between the association and the finance ministry is under way and is expected to be signed before the 2002 draft budget is submitted to parliament, not afterwards, as was the practice until now. Municipal overdue payments amount to BGN 152 million for the first half of this year, against BGN 172 million as of December 31, 2000.
