Bulgarian national football team goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov was confirmed Monday to stay out of upcoming friendlies with the Netherlands and Turkey.

In spite of earlier rebuttals, it turns out Mihaylov was one of the persons involved in a hellish crash on Trakiya Highway Friday.

He has suffered a minor injury to his right hand, which however renders him incapable to play until he recovers.

The Bulgarian Footbal Union has added that in addition to the injury, the goalie has been suffering "from a specific non-traumatic disorder that hindered his training in the last month."

Nikolay Mihaylov, 23, currently playing for Dutch Twente, was awarded the prize of Bulgaria's best football player for 2011.

Saturday and Tuesday next week the Bulgarian national football team is to play away friendly games with the Netherlands and Turkey, in Amsterdam and Salzburg respectively.
