An audit is being conducted in the important state companies controlled by the Economy Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Vassilev told a news conference in Varna. Checks have also been launched as to how the Ministry officials representing the state in the companies` board of directors defended the state interests. Vassilev pointed as an example to perfumery maker Alen Mak of Plovdiv. An Economy Ministry official representing the state in the company`s management was dismissed because she failed to avail herself of her powers at a Board of Directors meeting last week, he said. The Deputy PM said people on all levels used to steal from the state up till now. He announced that he will not move to the Cabinet a Privatization Agency`s proposal for a bonus totaling 90,000 leva to 156 experts until the results of their job have been estimated.
