At Least 20 Bulgarians Might Leave Harvard After Trump Visa Crackdown
The Trump administration has launched a sharp attack on elite universities, beginning with Harvard
The American Research Center in Sofia (ARCS) is co-sponsoring a seminar entitled "Bulgaria's Evolution Since 1989: International and Domestic Dimensions", the organization announced.
The seminar on Bulgaria after 1989 will be hosted by Harvard University; it will take place from 12:15 to 2:00 PM ET on May 1, at Harvard's Center for Government and International Studies, at 1730 Cambridge Street, 3rd floor, Room S354.
The seminar, open to the public, is organized jointly by the American Research Center in Sofia,
the Cold War Studies Program, the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies,
and the Kokkalis Program on Central and Southeastern Europe.
The seminar will be directed by Prof. Mark Kramer, Harvard University.
The participants include: Venelin Ganev, Professor at the Department of Political Science at Miami University of Ohio; Nassya Kralevska, journalist and author; Stefan Tafrov, Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the UN between 2001 and 2006, and 2012—currently; Nikolay Valkov, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, Harvard University.
Each panelist will be given 15 minutes to make a statement on the topic, after which they will engage in a discussion among themselves and with the public.
