A code yellow for dangerous weather has been called Sunday for the entire territory of Bulgaria, over expected strong winds.

Sunday the weather in the country will turn for the worse after a warm Saturday, annouced the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

Winds will be especially strong in northern Bulgaria and on the high mountains; winds on the Stara Planina range are expected to be of hurricane strength.

This will also bring rain with thunderstorms together with cooler air, with temperatures expected to drop with some 5-10 degrees.

Saturday, on which Orthodox Christian Bulgarians celebrated St. Lazarus Day, was warm and pleasant, with temperatures at many points hovering around 25 degrees C.
