Trade in Fuels in Bulgaria Down for Second Month in Row

Trade in fuels, automobiles and auto repairs in July continued its downward trend for the second month in a row, data from the National Statistical Institute shows. It marked a fall of 1,3 %, while the wholesales and retails and repairs of household goods went up by 8,3% and 4,5%. The growth in retails and household goods repairs is attributed to the increased sales of food, beverages and tobacco products - 7,7%, clothes and shoes - 6,6%, household goods - 6,1%. The increase offsets the reduced trade in pharmaceutical and medical products, which stands at 12, 5%. Net increase in revenues from production, goods and services sale for the first seven months of 2002 went down by 0,2% over the same period last year.
