Sofia Sends Observers to October Elections in Kosovo

Bulgaria is ready to participate with one hundred observers in the Kosovo elections October 26 this year. The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has invited Bulgaria to send observers. The Bulgarian observers will work there for a period of eleven days (18 or 19 October till October 29 or 30). On 26 October 2002, the people of Kosovo will once more go to the polls to cast ballots for their Municipal Assembly representatives. The OSCE Mission in Kosovo is mandated to organise elections in Kosovo. Two successful elections have already been conducted, the Municipal Elections in October 2000 and Assembly Election in November 2001.
