"The government strives at vital entrepreneurial community that pays taxes, does not accept bribes and behaves in a civilized way," Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Nikolay Vassilev said at a working lunch with the members of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF). He asked the business leaders for help in thinking of non-traditional and inventive ways to create new jobs. Vassilev also recalled that they probably enjoyed the lowest direct taxes in Europe, the lowest corporate income taxes as well as a zero tax rate on interest income. The minister asked the top businessmen for their support for the to-be-adopted bankruptcy law, under which the shortest bankruptcy procedures in Europe will be introduced. "The Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum supports each step of the government if it aims to improve business and investment environment," Maxim Behar, chairman of the forum said. He added that twenty new members have joined for the last year, thus, the forum becoming one of the biggest business organizations in Bulgaria. BBLF is a non-governmental organization set up in association with the The Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum.
