Austrian far-right Vice-Chancellor Susanne Riess-Passer said on Sunday she was quitting the governing coalition over a party revolt led by rival Joerg Haider, raising the prospect of early elections. Riess-Passer, who is Freedom Party leader, said party colleague Finance Minister Karl-Heinz Grasser was also stepping down over efforts by Haider and rank-and-file loyalists to force the government to cut taxes. Conservative Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel, who formed the government with the Freedom Party in 2000, said on Sunday he was "not afraid" of calling an early election.
