FM Talks on UN with Arab League Reps in NYC

Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Passy met in his New York residence the permanent UN representatives of the League of the Arab States. The top politicians discussed issues related to the joint work in the United Nations and the Security Council. President Parvanov leaves for the United States on Monday. Combat with terrorism and Bulgaria's NATO bid will top the agenda of Parvanov. He will visit Washington for meetings with Vice President Richard B. Cheney, Secretary of State Colin L. Powell and other officials. Parvanov will be in Washington Sept. 9-10 before travelling to New York the next day to chair the UN Security Council. The Council will open with a special session to commemorate the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
