Gifts of Bulgaria's Communist Dictator Exhibited

A exhibition with over one hundred presents of Bulgaria's former communist ruler Todor Zhivkov opened doors in his home town Pravetz. The exhibits are valuable objects - gifts to Zhivkov from abroad. Over one hundred and thirty masks, statues, crystal souvenirs, ivory, leather and wood are part of the exhibition. Among the objects are: an ancient closet from the Kuwaiti emir, silver, copper and crystal vessels and souvenirs from Lybia, India, the United States, Cyprus, USSR, etc. Zhivkov's collection of presents numbers one thousand and five hundred. The exhibition in Pravetz features under the motto "Todor Zhivkov and the World." State Administration Minister Dimitur Kalchev helped for the realization of the project. Zhivkov ruled Bulgaria for thirty-five years, from 1954 till 1989. He died on August 5th, 1998.
