Ireland Opens Embassy in Sofia 2003

H.E. Jim Flavin, Ireland's ambassador to Bulgaria, confirmed during his meeting with President Parvanov that an Irish embassy would be opened in Sofia. The resident diplomatic mission will be established in 2003. The ambassador who now resides in Budapest first informed Bulgarian officials about the decision of the Irish government in September 2001. President Parvanov awarded H.E. Jim Flavin with special medal for his contribution in boosting political and economic ties between Ireland and Bulgaria.
