Socialist Leader Denies Ultimatum to Leftist Ministers

Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader denied the allegations that he had extended an ultimatum to Ministers Kalchev and Paskalev. The leftist politicians got the ministers' posts since BSP acted like a partner to the elections winner Simeon II National Movement (SIINM) in forming the government. End August, BSP leader made a statement sharply critical to SIINM and warned Ministers Paskalev and Kalchev that they would rank their loyalties. In an interview for NET Radio on Saturday, he specified that all he meant is that "if the government goes on in such a manner, sooner or later they will have to make their choice." He also pointed out that President Parvanov had not been acting as one of BSP as alleged. The President only raises issues crucial to everybody in pointing the flaws to the Cabinet, Stanishev said.
