Bulgarian snowboarder Alexandra Jekova won the second place in the snowbord cross race at the extreme Winter X Games in Aspen, USA.

"One of my childhood dreams came true," commented the Bulgarian, adding "I'm looking forward with the hope to become ever faster."

Canadian Dominique Maltais won the gold medal, while another Canadian Maelle Ricker became third.

US snowboard rider and 7-time Winter X Games winner Lindsay Jacobellis had to stay out of the 2012 edition due to an injury.

A first-time gold winner at the X Games, Dominique Maltais grabbed the first place with confidence, leaving Jekova and Ricker behind, finishing at 1:31.6, almost 2 full seconds ahead.

The second and third had to face each other in a hard back-and-forth battle, which was in the end won by Bulgarian Jekova.
