BGN 680,000 from the parliamentary budget have been set aside for the purchase and installation of computer equipment in parliament, National Assembly General Secretary Ognyan Avramov said. The PC provider will be chosen under the Public Procurements Act. According to Avramov, urgent measures have to be taken since the informational backup of the Bulgarian parliament is positively daft in comparison with that of other European parliaments and of the state administration. `We found a great shortage of computer and communication equipment and undersupply of information,` Avramov said. Many of the MPs in the 39th National Assembly are younger than their predecessors and they have become accustomed to the convenience of contemporary information technologies, he added.
