A Bulgarian policeman was sent to a month-long crash course in English. Before getting a certificate however he had to sit an exam. But all he could say was just one, even though classic, sentence in Bulgarian English, inspired by from Hamlet's monologue "To be or not to be":

"V tubi or not v tubi?"*

*Bulgarian for "In gas cans or not in gas cans" - the Bulgarian word for gas cans is pronounced just like the verb "to be".

The joke is topical since recently Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov proposed that carrying bottles filled with gasoline or diesel should incur criminal liability
