The trial against the six Bulgarian medical workers will proceed in an objective manner, Libyan Ambassador to Bulgaria Farag Gibril said. The case is gathering momentum and no factor can influence the court, he underlined. Ambassador Gibril also pointed out the good relations between Bulgaria and Libya, which in his opinion are developing very fast. He proposed that the two countries make joint investments in the African continent. Libya decided that the six Bulgarian medical workers, accused of deliberately infecting hundreds of Libyan children with HIV, will be tried in a criminal court, authorities announced August 26. Foreign Minister Passy welcomed the decision, saying it was evidence that Libya had depoliticised the trial.
