Customs revenues for the first seven months of this year totalled more than BGN 1,4 BLN. The revenues from customs duties and fees met the end-year target envisaged in budget 2002 - BGN 100 M - with more than BGN 103 M already collected by the customs administration. Unlike the previous months, July recorded the highest amount of revenues from imports in the form of duties, VAT, excises, fines, sanctions and interests. Customs revenues in July totalled nearly BGN 236 M, while they stood at about BGN 242 M the same period last year. The weakening of the dollar is said to be one of the obstacles in collecting the planned revenues. The exchange rate is down by some BGN 0,25-BGN 0,30 per dollar over the same period last year, which affects the budget revenues.
