Nine persons have died in a crash caused by a truck with Bulgarian license plates on a road to the Turkish capital Ankara.

The Turkish traffic police have announced that the truck entered into the opposite lane and crashed into a van filled with passengers near Sultanbeyli, local media reported as cited by BGNES.

The driver of the bus, Bulgarian citizen Mehmed Salim Karaismail, died in the crash together with eight of the passengers in the van.

Eight more persons have been injured, and three of them are critical. A witness is quoted as saying the crash was in fact caused by a flat tire of the truck.
