55 of the smartest people on earth have arrived in Sofia for the annual summit of Mensa International.

Mensa, founded in England in 1946 by Roland Berrill, a barrister, and Dr. Lance Ware, a scientist and lawyer, brings together people whose IQ is in the top 2% of the population.

For the first time in the organization's history, the regular annual meeting of its international board of directors will take place in Bulgaria, according to a publication of 24 Hours daily.

The Sofia summit will coincide coincides with the 20th anniversary of its Bulgarian unit.

For a period of 20 years, a total of 2500 Bulgarians have passed the IQ test with an appropriate score.

About ten members have attained brilliant scores at the intelligence test administered by Mensa Bulgaria.

Twice fewer women than men have taken the IQ test and men predominate in the list of Mensa Bulgaria's 600 permanent members.

The Bulgarian unit of the high-IQ society comprises people from all walks of life and all ages.

The most popular representative of the club is top model Gergana Polezhanova.

According to statistics of Mensa Bulgaria, half of the candidates pass the IQ test threshold, which is a good score, according to Boyan Aleksandrov, member of the board of directors of the organization.

The upcoming meeting will feature, among other things, discussions on successful models for working with children.
