A wild fire engulfing about 500 decares is raging in southern Bulgaria in the Blagoevgrad region.

The information was reported Saturday by the Bulgarian Interior Ministry.

The outbreak is located near the village of Logodash. Grass and bushes, scorched by the summer heat, are burning in a very rough terrain, making the extinguishing of the blaze very difficult. The fire is spreading rapidly over very high winds and is going in the direction of neighboring Macedonia.

Three fire trucks, 11 firefighters, 20 local people and 15 forest rangers are on the spot, working to tame the blaze.
