The Interior Ministry, headed by Yordanov and controlled by ex-PM Kostov, kept 10 bugged rooms in the `Samokov` hotel in the resort of Borovets, well-informed sources from the IM told `Standart`.

The equipment was installed in secret, so the hotel management knew nothing of it. It was set in operation during the regular UDF seminars held in the hotel. By minister`s order, on June 23, a day before the new cabinet was formed, a team of `sweepers` came to the hotel to collect the `bugs`. There were men and women in this special group. They checked in as guests of the hotel.

The team managed to remove mikes from 9 out of 10 rooms. One remained wired for there were tourists in it. The `sweepers` were supposed to finish up their job this week. It hasn`t become clear when the bugs were installed, for what purpose, who gave the order and how long they had been used.

Anyone can enter the 4-star hotel, wander and look around. There is no need to check in. This is a public place and even an outsider can reach the administration wing without being stopped, said Victoria Toneva, lawyer to the hotel. The receptionists are sure that no Bulgarian group was registered on June 23. That day 134 guests checked, of which 40 were foreigners.

According to Svetlana Atanassova, hotel`s CEO, over half of the VIP rooms and two suites were occupied on the night of June 23. Anyone could enter these rooms even without checking in and do whatever he came for, `Standart` established. The building has encircling terraces, once you enter one room, you can enter any. `I can`t believe that our hotel was bugged`, says Svetlana Atanassova. I`ve been an executive director here for 4 years. During this time none of the guests has ever complained. If it`s true that some of the rooms were bugged, then I can guarantee that the hotel staff and management had no idea about it. If it turns out to be true, the reputation of our hotel will be seriously discredited and will take the culprits to court`.
