The Varna festival "Love is Crazy" will feature two Bulgarian films. The six-day romance-celebrating event starts next Friday in Bulgaria's biggest seaside city. Bulgarian poverty-hit film industry will be represented by "The Assistant" starring TV and theatre sensation Vassil Vassilev-Zueka and a Bulgarian-Macedonian co-production. The festival will open with the most successful European movie of 2001 - French film "Amelie", acclaimed all over Europe and nominated for Academy Award overseas. Along with competing films from Great Britain, Armenia, Hungary, Russia and Czech republic, two Hollywood blockbusters will be shown off the contest program - the erotic thriller "Unfaithful" starring heart-throb Richard Gere and Meg Ryan's new romantic comedy "Kate and Leopold". Bulgaria's first still movie "Love is Crazy" that inspired the festival's named will be the special surprise.
