US President Barack Obama has sent a letter of thanks to Bulgarian counterpart Georgi Parvanov for the latter's greetings on Independence Day.

In the letter, Obama thanks the Bulgarian President for his commitment to the ideals of democracy and freedom, on which the USA is based.

The American President recalls that those values need a special support, when faced with the complex challenges of today's world.

"I hope that one day all people in the world will be blessed with lives full of freedom and peace," concludes Obama.
