The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office has made the decision to return to the Lev Ins insurance company the confiscated computer servers.

The information was reported Saturday by the Bulgarian daily Trud (Labor), citing the June 29 Prosecutor's decision.

The insurance company is to get back 5 servers, 24 disks, and 1 computer.

Lev Ins became tangled in the special police operation "Octopus" after the February 10, 2010 arrest of Aleksei Petrov and 13 other individuals charged with various crimes.

On the same day, the company's offices were sealed over suspicions of ties with Petrov, who was released on house arrest in October, 2010.

"We were assured we will receive our servers in 10 days, but a year and half later we still don't have them. The seizure was illegal, without any sound reasons," Stefan Sofiyanski, CEO of Lev Ins, says, cited by Trud.

The CEO reminds that days after the "Octopus" special operation, the representatives of the two Israeli companies, which have 45% stake in Lev Ins, called an emergency briefing and announced the former employee of the Bulgarian State Agency for National Security (DANS) and controversial businessman, Aleksei Petrov, is not connected in any way with the company – he is not a shareholder and does not have an insurance policy with Lev Ins.

However, Iva Pavlova, who is said to be Petrov's long-time, live-in girlfriend, is also a long-time member of Lev Ins' Monitoring Board.

The Financial Supervision Commission has fined the company with BGN 15 M for delaying the report in its insurance policies, a decision the company is appealing, saying the delay is due to the missing servers, which were the seized by the police.
