Monday will see the first official visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to the Bulgaria since he stepped in office in 2007.
The visit will be used to discuss opportunities for boosting bilateral cooperation and the implementation of joint projects in the sectors of construction, infrastructure, healthcare, spa tourism, organic agriculture and livestock breeding. Gul will be accompanied by a large delegation of businesspeople.
The visit, on the invitation of Gul's Bulgarian counterpart Georgi Parvanov, was initially planned for the beginning of July, but was postponed because of the parliamentary crisis and the creation of Turkey's new government.
Besides Parvanov, Gul will meet with Bulgarian Prime Minsiter Boyko Borisov and Parliamentary chair Tsetska Tsacheva.
On Monday, the "Oborishte" street, between "G. S. Rakovski" street and "11th of August" street in downtown Sofia , will be closed for traffic from 8:30 am until 10:30 am local time; "Budapest" street between "Dondukov" boulevard and hotel "Arena di Serdika" will be closed for traffic beginning 8:30 am until the end of the event; "Gyueshevo" street will be closed from 11 am until 12:30 pm with the exception of public transportation vehicles while the latter ban is subject to change on the decision of the Sofia Traffic Police.
