Italian authorities have captured a Bulgarian truck with a large amount of contraband cigarettes in the Adriatic port of Ancona.

A total of 5.5 tons of illicit cigarettes were found in the truck, which arrived on a ferry boat from Greece.

The smuggled goods were hidden under frozen fish in the refrigerating compartment of the truck.

According to the driver's documents, the goods carried by the truck were supposed to reach the Netherlands.
