As many as 79% of Bulgarians have chosen the country's sea resorts for their summer breaks, the reasons being mainly financial, a new poll has showed.

Only 15% of the 300 participants in the poll, conducted by Synovate, intend to travel abroad during their summer breaks. Among them, most prefer Greece (32%) and Turkey (22%).

41% of their compatriots who have chosen local sea resorts have pointed out their relative cheapness as the main reason. The Bulgarians who have decided to visit summer resorts in 2011 will spend BGN 1144 (EUR 587) on average during their breaks.

A little more than one third of the respondents (36%) have claimed they will spend more in comparison with the previous year, while 47% have said they will spend the same amount of money as they did in 2010.
