Code yellow has been declared for nearly all Bulgarian regions Friday over the forecast of dangerous heat, the Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology at Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, BAS, informs.

Temperatures are to reach 37 degrees Celsius with uncomfortable heat and muggy air.

The temperatures are supposed to go down Saturday when rain is expected.

Code yellow means potentially dangerous weather, where the forecast is not for unusual meteorological events, but requires people to exercise caution.

The mercury passed 30 degrees Celsius everywhere in Bulgaria on Thursday, but records have not been registered.

In the capital Sofia, the temperature is 28 degrees even after 7 pm, while it reached 31 in the afternoon.

In southern Bulgaria and on the north, along the Danube River, the temperatures reached 34 degrees in the afternoon.
