Bulgarian Socialists to Table New No-Confidence Vote in July

Left-wing Coalition for Bulgaria will initiate a new no-confidence vote based on the overall policy of the Borisov Cabinet in July, announced Saturday socialist MP Kornelia Ninova.
If the right-wing Blue Coalition prepares and submits a well-motivated no-confidence motion, Coalition for Bulgaria will support it, she added.
Ninova's announcement comes on the heels of Friday's no-confidence vote on the failed economic policy of the GERB Cabinet, which was overturned with 124 MPs against, 70 in favor, and 2 abstaining. The procedure was initiated by the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS).
Ninova was adamant that the absence of the Blue Coalition in the plenary hall on Friday signaled support for the current government.
"This is not oppositional behavior. A true act of opposition would have been if they had stayed in the hall and voted against the government", the socialist MP declared.
"As was expected, the Cabinet survived after purchasing the support of a few independent MPs, but the truth is that it is in a state of parliamentary isolation", Ninova added, referring to the non-aligned MPs as "political nomads, who withdrew from the parties they belonged to and currently support only the Cabinet.
In her words, the no-confidence vote was an attempt of the opposition to stir up a real debate.
Ninova rejected allegations that Bulgarians' incomes were on the rise, citing the spike in smuggling and the lack of income sources for the country's population.
"This is obvious from the behavior of the government over the past month- mornings they say that incomes will rise, while evenings they cancel out their assertions. Their last but one statement was that there is no money for an increase.
