Eight foreign embassies in Sofia came out with statements in support of the Sofia Pride, scheduled for this Saturday.

That includes the embassies of the USA, Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Germany, Slovenia, Finland and Norway, which all stressed their commitment to equal rights for all.

Ambassadors expressed their concerns that in a lot of country LGBT members continue to meet discrimination and even violence.

"As an ambassador I would like to express the support of my country for all those who are going to participate in the fourth Sofia Pride rally. No one ought to be persecuted or discriminated for who he or she is and loves," reads the letter signed by all eight ambassadors.

Envoys have wished organizers and participants a peaceful and successful rally.

The fourth Sofia Pride will take place Saturday at 16.00 EET, starting at the so-called Lovers' Bridge nearby the National Palace of Culture in Sofia.
