The visit of Bulgarian Prime Minister Ivan Kostov to Macedonia was very timely, Richard Miles, US Ambassador to Sofia, said.
The crisis in Macedonia poses a problem, he added. The current situation in the neighboring country will not necessitate postponement of the general elections in Bulgaria, Yordan Sokolov, Speaker of Parliament, said.
PM Kostov discontinued his pre-election campaign due to the crisis in Macedonia, Ekaterina Michailova, General Secretary of the ruling Union of Democratic Forces (UDF), announced.
