A workshop on "Balkan Interpretation of Yordan Radichkov's Plays" opened in Smolyan (Southern Bulgaria) and will continue until August 26, the Stage Balkans Foundation announced. Prof. Krikor Azaryan will conduct the workshop, which is co-organized by Smolyan municipality and the Rhodope Theatre of Smolyan. Each of the attending directors from Greece, Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia will stage one of the four part of Yordan Radichkov's play "Lazaritsa" (the Bulgarian name for St Lazar's Day), and Prof. Azaryan will stage parts from "Commotion" and "Baskets". At the end, the parts will be combined in a single performance designed to be shown in Greece, Turkey, Serbia and Macedonia. The idea of the organizers is to integrate in a single performance texts from Radichkov's plays revealing the universal and original world created by the prominent Bulgarian playwright.
